Job description

The Director of Finance, Cost and Inventory will lead our cost accounting and inventory management functions. As a critical leader in our manufacturing operations, you will ensure end-to-end inventory accuracy, robust product costing, and strict compliance with financial regulations. Utilizing Infor LN, you will streamline manufacturing accounting, reconcile production variances, and drive cross functional profitability. Essential Functions * Cost Accounting & Margin Analysis * Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation. * Oversee standard costing, job-costing, and the development of labor and overhead rates across complex manufacturing programs. * Perform deep-dive profitability, variance, and margin analysis by product line, contract, and business unit. * Ensure all accounting and estimating processes are fully compliant with DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations as applicable to our industry. Inventory Management & Control * Govern inventory accounting for raw materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and finished goods. * Design and enforce cycle count programs, physical inventory procedures, and ongoing reconciliation. * Manage inventory pegging, material traceability, and Customer Furnished Material (CFM) tracking unique to A&D contracts within Infor LN. * Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, establishing appropriate reserves and mitigation strategies. Infor LN ERP System Leadership * Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Costing, Warehousing, and Manufacturing modules within Infor LN. * Ensure seamless synchronization between Inventory Control, Shop Floor Management, and the General Ledger. * Drive continuous system improvements, data governance, and process automation within Infor LN to minimize manual reconciliations. Leadership & Compliance * Build, mentor, and lead a team of cost accountants and inventory control specialists. * Establish, monitor, and report out on key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding inventory accuracy and cost of goods sold (COGS). * Enforce and maintain strict internal controls, ensuring 100% SOX compliance and smooth audit support. * Perform other duties as required. * Standard Essential Functions * Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule]. * Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices. * Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture. Qualifications and Competencies * Security Clearance-Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel * Strong understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) * Excellent cross-functional leadership capabilities * Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to manage direct reports * Ability to distill complex findings and concepts into key data-points and visualizations * Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education / Certifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. * CPA, CMA, or CPIM highly preferred. Experience * 10+ years of progressive cost and inventory accounting experience * 5+ years in a management or leadership role. * Aerospace & Defense manufacturing background strongly preferred (experience with engineer-to order and government contracting is a major plus). * Deep, hands-on expertise with Infor LN (specifically Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Financial modules) strongly preferred.
