Job description

About Thea

We're a well-funded, rapidly growing startup on a mission to provide world-class AI-based learning for all students and educators. Our brand promise to learners is "Tell Thea about the test, and we'll do the rest." Thea adapts seamlessly and effortlessly to any course or curriculum and empowers the learner to truly master the material, not just memorize it. We are already helping level the playing field for millions of students and giving them the support they need to thrive in the classroom. We are looking for passionate, driven team members to help us rapidly expand our impact.

The Role

We're hiring a Marketing & Partnerships Associate to work at the intersection of content, B2B, and partnerships. This is a generalist role with real ownership โ€” you'll be writing content, managing relationships with influencers and partners, supporting institutional outreach, and helping build the communications muscle of our marketing team.

This role is designed to grow. You'll come in with support and clear direction, and over time you'll take on greater ownership of communications workstreams, content strategy, and lead development. If you're someone who gets energy from a fast pace, takes initiative without being asked, and writes well under pressure, this is the role for you.

The Marketing & Partnerships Associate role is based in Arlington, VA.

If You'd Been With Us This Past Month, You'd Have...

Content, Communications & B2B Outreach

  • Written and produced content across channels: social, email, blog, short-form video scripts, and sales collateral.
  • Supported communications workstreams including email marketing, press outreach, and campaign messaging.
  • Drafted B2B content: one-pagers, case studies, videos, sales emails, award applications, and conference materials for institutional audiences.
  • Supported the strategy, design, execution, and measurement of multichannel B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Assisted with lead development.

Partnership & Influencer Management

  • Managed day-to-day relationships with creators and influencers on the direct-to-student side.
  • Supported partnership development for the marketing team: identify, vet, and onboard new partners.
  • Coordinated deliverables, timelines, and reporting for active partnerships.
  • Helped build scalable processes for partnership tracking and communications.

We envision the role will continue to include this scope and set of responsibilities, and more.

About You

  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, content, partnerships, or a closely related role.
  • Exceptional writer โ€” clear, concise, and adaptable across audiences and formats.
  • Strong communicator who is confident managing external relationships.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and moves fast without sacrificing quality.
  • Comfortable owning projects from brief to delivery with minimal hand-holding.
  • Organized and detail-oriented; able to juggle multiple workstreams without dropping the ball.
  • Genuine interest in education, AI, or early-stage startups is a plus.
  • You're excited to work with us in-person in Arlington, VA.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in influencer marketing, creator programs, or affiliate partnerships.
  • Familiarity with B2B content and campaigns or institutional/enterprise sales environments.
  • Exposure to edtech, SaaS, or mission-driven companies.
  • Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Customer.io, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce).

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package that includes equity.
  • High-quality medical insurance401K
  • Commuter benefits
  • Unlimited vacation policy for employees to rest and recharge
  • An office with great amenities and a breathtaking view
  • Work at a company recognized by the Washington Business Journal as a Top Company to Work For

Compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
