Influence information

What is an influence?

An Influence job typically involves shaping opinions, driving engagement, and impacting decisions through communication, content, or leadership. Professionals in this role may work in marketing, sales, public relations, or social media, using their expertise to persuade audiences and foster connections. They often leverage data, storytelling, and strategic relationships to amplify messages and achieve business or organizational goals.

What does a typical day look like for someone working as an influence?

A typical day for an Influencer often involves planning, creating, and editing content, engaging with followers through comments and messages, and collaborating with brands or partners on sponsored posts. Influencers also spend time analyzing engagement metrics, staying on top of current trends, and brainstorming new ideas to keep their audience interested. Depending on their niche, they may attend events, photo shoots, or meetings with clients and other creators. Team structures vary, as some Influencers work independently while others have support from managers, photographers, or content editors. This dynamic role requires balancing creativity, business strategy, and constant interaction with both collaborators and audiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the influence position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Influencer, you need strong content creation abilities, a solid understanding of social media platforms, and a proven track record of growing and engaging an online audience. Familiarity with digital analytics tools, camera equipment, editing software, and sometimes influencer marketing platforms is beneficial. Creativity, authenticity, adaptability to rapidly changing trends, and clear communication help Influencers stand out in the field. These skills are vital for developing compelling content, forging brand partnerships, and sustaining influence in a competitive digital environment.

Job description

About the Job

Mars Men is one of the fastest growing DTC brands in the US, achieving $100M run rate in less then 18 months. Recently backed by L Catterton, Mars Men is positioned to become the leading men’s health brand in the supplement space. We operate across DTC, retail, and emerging channels, and are entering our next phase of growth as we continue scaling the business.

We’re looking for a Head of Influencer to own and scale our paid creator and influencer ecosystem.

This role will take full ownership of our Pathfinder Program, building a high-volume network of creators who produce authentic, performance-driven content that can be scaled through paid media. This is not a traditional influencer marketing role focused primarily on organic posts, reach, or impressions. The goal is to find the right creators, build strong partnerships, develop great creative, and ultimately turn those partnerships into ads that drive meaningful growth.

You’ll sit at the intersection of Partnerships, Creative, and Growth, working closely with our paid media and creative teams to understand what is working, recruit more of it, and continuously improve the quality and performance of our creator network.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and scale the Pathfinder Program from creator sourcing and recruitment through activation, content delivery, and ongoing partnerships.

  • Build a strong pipeline of creators across fitness, health, lifestyle, fatherhood, performance, and adjacent categories, prioritizing content quality over follower count.

  • Negotiate creator partnerships, usage rights, whitelisting, deliverables, and ongoing agreements.

  • Develop clear creator briefs and partnerships that balance brand direction with authentic, native content.

  • Partner with Paid Media and Creative to analyze performance, identify winning creators and concepts, and continuously improve recruitment and briefs.

  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of fresh creator assets for paid testing while managing communications, timelines, contracts, revisions, and payments.

  • Build reporting and processes around creator performance, including spend, CAC, ROAS, creative winners, and creator-level results.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in influencer marketing, creator partnerships, performance creative, affiliate marketing, or a related field.

  • Deep understanding of creator and social media culture, including what makes content perform across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.

  • Proven experience building or managing creator, influencer, affiliate, UGC, or performance marketing programs and budgets.

  • Strong knowledge of paid creator content, Meta advertising, partnership ads/whitelisting, usage rights, and performance metrics.

  • Confident negotiator and relationship builder who is comfortable working directly with talent and management.

  • A creative eye for identifying great content paired with a data-driven mindset for understanding why it performs.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable moving quickly, testing often, and managing a high volume of creators simultaneously.

Life at Mars Men

  • Competitive Compensation - We offer a strong salary and benefits package, tailored to attract top talent

  • Remote Work Environment - Our team is remote, offering full flexibility to work from home

  • Autonomy & Ownership - You’ll have the freedom to run your own systems and make real impact

  • Time Off - 15 PTO days per year (prorated), 9 company holidays, plus your birthday off

  • Parental Leave - Generous paid parental leave for growing families

  • Health Benefits - 100% premium coverage for health, dental, and vision plans, with 25% coverage for dependents

  • 401(k) - Company-sponsored plan with a 2% match through Guideline (elective participation)

  • $200 Annual Superpower Membership

  • Growth & Development - We invest in your professional development with ongoing learning opportunities
