• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate counseling support tailored to the unique needs of individuals in distress.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure client safety in critical situations.
• Facilitate follow-up care and establish individualized crisis intervention plans to foster long-term recovery.
• Apply evidence-based crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to effectively manage challenging scenarios.
• Engage in continuous learning opportunities to enhance expertise in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
• Maintain accurate documentation on client interactions and treatment progress in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Our clients primarily consist of individuals facing challenges related to substance misuse, trauma, and acute psychological distress. The counselor will work with a diverse range of clients, requiring cultural sensitivity and empathy in their approach. Strong relational skills are key, as the ability to establish trust and rapport is critical for effective therapy and support.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of three years of recent experience delivering crisis intervention and mental health counseling services.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices, specifically in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
• Proficient in conducting rapid mental health assessments and developing personalized treatment plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective therapeutic relationships.
• A comprehensive understanding of the legal and ethical considerations in mental health counseling.

• Additional certifications or training in specialized areas relevant to crisis intervention or trauma-informed care.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams to round out the holistic care of clients.
• Proven success in managing acute cases and challenging situations effectively.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
