Job description

Serenity Estates of Lincolnshire is currently accepting applications for a Psychotropic Infection Control RN. This opportunity is Full Time Monday thru Friday. This role is a key role that ensures patients receiving psychotropic medication or psychiatric services remain safe from infectious disease risks while maintaining therapeutic care.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Infection Prevention and Control: Develop, implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures tailored to psychiatric units.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct facility assessments to identify and mitigate infection risks.

  • Staff and Patient Education: Train psychiatric staff and patients/families on infection control measures such as hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation protocols.

  • Outbreak response: Investigate and respond to infection reports, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contain outbreaks and revise protocols as needed.

  • Data Monitoring: Track and report infection incidences, trends and compliance with IPC standards.

  • Program Development: Lead annual flu prevention, treatment, and reporting design educational programs for psychotropic care units.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • RN license in good standing in state of Illinois

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control preferred.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • 2-3 years post licensure RN experience

  • 1 year of Infection Control experience.
