Position Summary
As a Medical Assistant at MinuteClinic, you'll be on the front lines of care-making a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. In this fastpaced and collaborative environment, you'll use your clinical expertise and critical thinking skills to deliver highquality, evidencebased care. From assessing patient needs and administering vaccines to partnering with interdisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in improving health outcomes and creating a caring, trusted experience for every patient you serve. You will perform tasks such as patient registration and intake by accurately document patient medical history-including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history-using electronic health records, wait room management, and other responsibilities to enhance the patient experience. Additionally, you will develop and administer mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.

Your clinical responsibilities will include evaluating complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses; applying advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature; performing routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well-being; conducting medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Obtain and maintain full, active and unrestricted license(s) in the State for which MA provides services.

  • Obtain and maintain credentialing and re-credentialing requirements as necessary.

  • Obtain and maintain an Active BLS Certification to administer Basic Life Support (BLS) and other Life Saving Measures, including, but not limited to, performing CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Experience with documentation of care, medication administration, infection control precautions, assessing patient educational needs, physical assessment, obtaining vital signs, performing point of care testing and care coordination.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and the members of the clinical care team.

  • Demonstrates initiative, problem solving ability, adaptability, flexibility, and has the ability to work independently.

  • Physical presence in a retail/clinic setting is required.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Typically involves prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, reaching, and use of hands and arms for clinical tasks; and the ability to position patients and equipment.

  • Requires sufficient visual acuity (including close vision) and manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and operate computers and clinical equipment.

  • May involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials; however, training and personal protective equipment are provided and safety and infection control procedures must be followed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care or Emergency Room.

  • Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system such as Epic.

  • Previous phlebotomy, vaccine administration and point-of-care experience.

  • Previous experience with patient registration

  • Experience working in aclinical settingwith diverse cultural dynamics among staff and patients.

  • Proven ability to managesensitive informationethically and responsibly.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $42.35

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
