Job description

Manufacturing Line Operator – Steel Deck / Rollforming Trojan Steel | Morgan Mill, TX | Full-Time or Part-Time

Trojan Steel is a fast-growing steel deck manufacturer looking for a skilled, hands-on Manufacturing Line Operator to join our team in Morgan Mill, TX. This is a production-floor role for someone who knows rollforming inside and out — no space for a learning curve.

What You'll Do

  • Operate and monitor a steel deck rollforming line to produce structural deck to spec, on time, and without shortcuts
  • Perform tooling changeouts efficiently and accurately to meet varying profile and gauge requirements
  • Handle steel coils using forklift equipment
  • Execute quality control checks in accordance with Steel Deck Institute (SDI) standards throughout the production run
  • Identify and troubleshoot line issues — material defects, misalignment, profile deviation — and make corrections before they become problems
  • Maintain accurate production logs, coil usage records, and QC documentation
  • Keep the line area clean, organized, and operating in compliance with safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience operating a steel deck rollforming line or similar rollforming/cold-forming production line
  • Familiarity with SDI standards and structural deck quality requirements
  • Competence with forklift operation, specifically coil handling
  • Ability to perform tooling changeouts independently with minimal downtime
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
  • Mechanically inclined — comfortable making minor line adjustments and flagging maintenance needs
  • Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision

Compensation & Schedule

  • Full-time or part-time schedules available — we're flexible for the right person
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience
  • Opportunity to grow with a company that's building something from the ground up
