Assembler - 1st Shift - Paying $20/hr

Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm - Monday - Friday

Job Description:

As a Shop Helper, you will be responsible for assembling industrial safety interlocks used in manufacturing and machine safety applications. You will work closely with mechanical and electromechanical safety interlocks per drawings and work instructions. Your role will include configuring key sequences to customer specifications, performing functional testing, and conducting quality checks to ensure proper operation. You will be required to use hand tools and measuring equipment to meet tight tolerances, complete production and quality documentation accurately, and follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures. Effective communication and collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams will be essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble industrial safety interlocks for manufacturing and machine safety applications.
• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical safety interlocks per drawings and work instructions.
• Configure key sequences to customer specifications.
• Perform functional testing and quality checks to ensure proper operation.
• Use hand tools and measuring equipment to meet tight tolerances.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Communicate issues and collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams.

Essential Skills:

• Assembly skills, including the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to work with very small pieces and parts.
• Good attendance record.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in an assembly line environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing assembly or mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to read basic assembly drawings and follow detailed instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with precision assembly, inspection tools, or safety devices is a plus.
• Basic mechanical experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

The position operates on a first shift schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the possibility of overtime. The work involves assembling more than 70,000 safety components annually, ensuring a sequential pattern of safe operations for isolating energy and accessing hazardous areas safely. Products include mechanical interlocks, electro-mechanical interlocks, solenoid key release units, time delay key release units, transfer panels, and smart technology, all designed to meet user requirements and provide peace of mind.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NORTH CANTON, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
