Specialty Silicone Products, Inc. (SSP) ( A HEICO Company ) was founded in 1989 by four employees of GE Silicones. They recognized that several niche markets were emerging based on silicone technology and no commercial solution existed to meet this growing demand.
They combined their experience to design and manufacture EMI/RFI Conductive Silicones for Electronics/Military applications; Silicone/PTFE Septa closures and cap mats for analytical testing; and aerospace/USP-Class VI medical-grade silicones for Industrial Gasket Fabricators.
SSP is proud to be an ISO 9001 certified company as we celebrate our 37th year in business (2026), with a reputation for developing "Silicones that Work" and delivering them to our customers with speed, flexibility, and service. Our total facility footprint is now 54,000 square feet located at 3 McCrea Hill Road in the Corporate Technology Park, Ballston Spa, NY, a beautiful rural industrial park setting just off Route 50.
Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Operators primary role is to operate production equipment in Industrial manufacturing department. Machinery to be operated includes the Mills, Calendars, Ovens, Spider, Presses, operation machines. May be required to perform other duties, such as packaging, inventory cycle counts and/or work with other production equipment. Demonstrates full competency in the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of the assigned equipment as documented on training records.
Success will be measured by:

  • Maintaining high quality standards
  • Meeting or exceeding production quotas

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take Initiative and offer suggestions to improve operation process or equipment
  • Fully competent on specific assigned tasks and/or equipment within guidelines
  • Performs work in a timely manner with high attention to quality
  • Must be able to achieve production quotas set for the machine as assigned
  • Follows and takes direction
  • Demonstrates safe, orderly and clean work practices
  • Maintains a total awareness of quality practices and procedures
  • Responsive to all production requests
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends (mandatory overtime may be required)
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must be able to perform each assigned task at full competency, as recorded on his/her training record.
  • Equipment and process troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to process work orders, writing clearly and with basic math skills
  • Knowledge and patience with equipment and workflow
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Teamwork and good communication skills
