Industrial Laborer
1st Shift
Pay $20-$25 per hour
We are seeking a dependable Industrial Laborer to support equipment disassembly, material handling, and preparation of industrial equipment and components for shipment. This position is ideal for someone with forklift experience who is comfortable working in a factory or industrial environment and understands the importance of working safely around heavy machinery and elevated work areas.
The work is hands-on and repetitive, requiring good attention to detail, the ability to follow directions, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with the disassembly and demolition of equipment and robotic cells.
  • Separate equipment, components, and materials into the appropriate designated areas.
  • Prepare equipment and components for shipment, including organizing, palletizing, banding, and securing loads.
  • Operate a forklift to safely move materials, equipment, and components as needed.
  • Properly and evenly distribute materials and equipment on pallets to ensure safe and stable loads.
  • Band, strap, and secure pallets and loads according to established procedures.
  • Operate basic power tools and hand tools as needed.
  • Assist machinery and equipment operators by safely spotting and guiding when required.
  • Communicate clearly with employees operating machinery or working at elevated heights.
  • Safely monitor and guide workers working above ground level to help prevent hazards to employees working below.
  • Maintain awareness of active equipment and traffic areas and stay clear of unsafe zones.
  • Follow all required PPE, fall protection, forklift, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and work independently when assigned.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary hazards.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Safety Expectations
Safety is a critical part of this position. The successful candidate should have a good understanding of basic industrial safety practices, including:
  • Proper use of required PPE.
  • Wearing a seat belt while operating a forklift or other applicable equipment.
  • Staying out of active forklift and equipment traffic areas.
  • Using proper fall protection when required.
  • Maintaining safe distances from operating machinery.
  • Understanding how equipment operators work and communicating effectively with them.
  • Recognizing potential hazards and using good judgment in an industrial environment.
  • Safely communicating with and spotting employees working at elevated heights.
All electrical power will be shut off to designated areas before demolition or equipment disassembly begins.
Qualifications
  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, demolition, or industrial environment preferred.
  • OSHA safety training or coursework is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working around heavy machinery or industrial equipment preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate basic power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary.
  • Good safety awareness and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive, hands-on industrial environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely handle and move materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work around heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work at ground level while other employees may be working at elevated heights.
  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday.
