Job description

Role Overview:ย 

This role is to provide overarching occupational health and safety expertise through the field of Industrial Hygiene to one of Apex's most valued clients, a national aerospace manufacturer. Over the last 2 decades Apex has worked hand and hand with the national aerospace manufacturer helping them achieve their Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomic and Safety Engineering goals.ย  The incumbent will serve as aย Mid-Levelย Industrial Hygiene contractorย at theirย Wichita, Kansasย facility. This role will be a full-time, onsite position. The client has requestedย 8-hourย days, 5 days a week.ย The initial role is forย 6-monthsย with possible extension based on performance.ย ย 

The incumbent will executeย occupational safetyย and industrial hygieneย projects from start to finish.ย This roleย will routinely involve; (1)ย workplace / shop floorย industrialย hygieneย exposureย assessments,ย (2)ย dataย management andย tracking and through the client's internal databaseย systemsย (3)ย providing deliverablesย based on the completed assessments, and (4) industrial hygiene programย effectiveness evaluations and continuous improvement support.ย ย 

But, perhaps most importantly, the incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independentlyย and produce results within budget and timeframe.ย ย 

Responsibilities as anIndustrial Hygienist:ย 

  • Providingย comprehensiveย occupationalย safetyย and industrial hygieneย consulting services to clients, includingย conductingย shop floor observations focused onย identifying,ย assessingย and risk-rankingย employeeย exposuresย to injuryย or illness, andย devising solution options aimed at mitigatingย injury/illnessย exposures.ย ย ย ย 
  • In collaboration withย Apexย client relationship managers, coordinates and executesย safetyย and industrial hygieneย projects within set organizational procedures and standards.ย ย ย 
  • In close routine collaboration with the external customer, implements and executes an agreed-to service plan.ย ย Monitors andย reportsย progress on plan completion as directed.ย ย Works withย numerousย internal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity.ย 
  • Acts as an advisor to the customer onย occupationalย safetyย and industrial hygieneย issues.ย 
  • Provides input to client relationship managers or business development staff on potential newย EHSย projects.ย ย ย
