Job description
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Electrician IV to support Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) our government customer located in NORCO, California. The candidate will work one of the following shifts: 6:30 am- 3:30 pm or 8:30 am- 5:30 pm.
The candidate is responsible for providing support for the daily maintenance operations of Electrical requirements supporting all systems and government property.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Perform Daily Operational Checks of all electrical equipment.
โ€ข Report all safety related concerns immediately to the Safety Specialist in writing.
โ€ข Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills for the following equipment types:
o VFD's
o AHU's
o Motors
o ATS's
o UPS's
o Industrial lighting systems
o Low voltage lighting Systems
โ€ข Mentor and support other team members as required.
โ€ข Support other team members as required.
โ€ข Maintains, repairs, installs, modifies, troubleshoots, loads, and tests new and installed electrical equipment and components including secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply distribution panels, switch gear, power and control circuits, motors, multi-phase alternating current circuits, low voltage wiring systems for industrial complexes and buildings, high intensity lighting systems, and related equipment.
โ€ข Monitor all inspection and electrical testing equipment and PPE to ensure current certifications and calibrations are current. Make recommendations to Safety Specialist when calibrations are needed and required by the manufacturer.
โ€ข Write up electrical evaluations and assessments as required.
โ€ข Must be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, control diagrams, logic diagrams and specifications and creating red lines as required.
โ€ข Designs, installs, determines the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuit systems, equipment, and controls.
โ€ข Performs standard calculations/computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and systems.
โ€ข Inspect and maintain all required electrical PPE daily. Report all discrepancies to Safety Specialist immediately in writing.
โ€ข Identify unsafe working conditions and work practices and report to Safety Specialist immediately in writing.
โ€ข Assist in completion of facilities related projects and equipment and system repairs as required.
โ€ข Assist in installation of new equipment and systems as required.
โ€ข Assist in completion of facilities related projects and equipment and system repairs as required.
โ€ข Assist in general cleaning of mechanical spaces and equipment required and as requested by management.
โ€ข Perform infrared surveys/scans of all electrical panels, switchboards, MCC panels, transformers, bus ducts, FVD's and other related control panels and electrical equipment within the facility as outlined in the Master Preventive Maintenance Plan and Schedule.
โ€ข Inspect and maintain all electrical distribution switchgear, electrical panels, transformers, bus duct and all other associated electrical equipment within the facility.
โ€ข Establish and document a formal inventory system for all lamps and lighting related spare parts.
โ€ข Highly skilled in the use of hand/power tools and test equipment commonly used in the construction and electrical trades.
โ€ข Keeps Lead Technicians and Facilities Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
โ€ข Ensure proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed.
โ€ข Assists other trades as required to accomplish maintenance activities.
โ€ข Respond to all types of emergency situations, water, electrical, wind, storm etc.
โ€ข Utilize Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
โ€ข Assist in performing monthly safety inspections as required.
โ€ข Complete required monthly safety and equipment training.
โ€ข Performs other related duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, electrical energy, dust, fumes, solvents grease, oils, moving machinery with moving parts, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces.
Physical Effort: Works from ground level, ladders, and platforms on equipment and systems where parts are hard-to-reach. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข OSHA 10 certification (Preferred)
