Location: We are seeking an Intern - Culinary for the Lucas Oil Stadium, located in Indianapolis, IN.

Principal Function:

The Intern - Culinary position will assist in the of supervision within a Sodexo Live! commercial kitchen, performing functions and responsibilities that require a minimal to moderate level of difficulty, experience, expertise and complexity. The Intern - Culinary assures that foods are prepared using fundamental cooking techniques, seasoned for maximum taste and flavor, and served in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

The Intern - Culinary will help direct some aspects of foodservice production and service, ensuring that approved food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. With guidance, the Intern - Culinary supervises the preparation and production of the unit's menus and helps manage a shift or station in the hot kitchen, the cold kitchen and/or the bakery and pastry shop.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate as part of the Culinary Team to help supervise a culinary department for the preparation of foods served to the customers in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Ensure kitchen safety and sanitation conforms to all Sodexo Live!, regulatory, and governmental standards to provide a safe workplace producing high quality food products.
  • Contribute to goal of 100% customer satisfaction through personal commitment to customer service and leading the culinary team by example.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Current college student with studies in hospitality/food management, communications, human resources, accounting, marketing or another industry-related college program.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize and work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter.
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
