Job description

INDIAN PREFERENCE POLICY: Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC. Section 472)
POSITION:                 MAINTENANCE WORKER
DEPARTMENT:          MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO:           MAINTENACE DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be age 21 or older and have a current driver license
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and pass a background check to qualify for a gaming license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or facility management preferred
  • Education and/or training in maintenance engineering, mechanical or electrical or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be able to read, write and understand equipment manuals
  • Must have had OSHA training with Bloodborne Pathogens, CDC Cleaning requirements, Lock-out/Tag-out policies, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used or brought into the casino
  • Must be able to read schematics and communicate in the primary language used in the workplace
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, carry and lift to 50 pounds regularly, lifting to 200 pounds occasionally with help
  • Must be able to grasp, have good manual dexterity, and good hand-eye coordination 
  • Must be willing to work graveyard shift if applicable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with general maintenance of the building and grounds
  • Keep equipment in functioning order
  • Maintenance related responsibilities within the Casino based on his/her technical skills, which may be the following: HVAC, mechanical, electrical, electronic controls, carpentry, plumbing or boilers or a combination of such skills
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs as necessary
  • Knowledge of existing Casino building and prior experience working with neon signs very helpful
  • Installation of carpet tiles
  • Other duties/services as assigned
