Job description

Description

The Filmmaker will be the primary coordinator of video production and will be responsible for telling compelling, cinematic stories that reveal life change, communicate the power of the Gospel, and help propel the mission of Indian Rocks Church forward. This role is more than traditional videography or content production. The Filmmaker is a visual storyteller who identifies, develops, and crafts meaningful stories that connect people to what God is doing in and through Indian Rocks Church.

This hands-on creative role leads the full filmmaking process, including story development, shooting, lighting, editing, color grading, and final delivery. The Filmmaker will also recruit, develop, and lead a volunteer team of visual storytellers who share in the mission of capturing and communicating stories of life change.


Essential Functions:

  • Video Production & Visual Storytelling: Plan, shoot, light, and edit cinematic films and high-quality video content (including weekly announcements, sermon bumpers, testimonies, life-change stories, campaigns, and special events) from concept through final delivery.
  • Volunteer Recruitment & Leadership: Recruit, equip, train, and deploy a volunteer team of visual storytellers, providing creative direction, vision, and ongoing development for production team members.
  • Creative Collaboration & Brand Alignment: Partner closely with the Creative Director, Communications team, and ministry leaders to identify storytelling opportunities, build project concepts, and ensure all media aligns with Indian Rocks' brand, content calendar, and mission.
  • Technical & Media Asset Management: Operate, maintain, and organize professional video, lighting, and audio equipment; manage raw footage archives and digital asset libraries while handling multiple project workflows simultaneously.
  • Teamwork & Ministry Integration: Work cooperatively with all levels of pastoral staff, ministry personnel, leaders, volunteers, members, and guests to foster positive teamwork and support the mission of Indian Rocks.ย 

Requirements

Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in video production, film, communications, or a related creative field preferred. Proven experience as a Videographer and Editor with a strong portfolio/reel demonstrating cinematography, lighting, editing, color grading, and storytelling skills (experience in photography, live production, and streaming is a plus).


Must be proficient in and able to:

  • Demonstrate high proficiency in professional video editing and color grading software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) and working knowledge of motion graphics/visual effects (such as Adobe After Effects).
  • Demonstrate a strong creative vision with a sharp eye for narrative structure, pacing, visual emotion, and attention to detail.
  • Prioritize, develop, and execute realistic action plans while managing multiple projects and deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Delegate work assignments, oversee project timelines, and empower volunteer teams in a creative ministry environment.
  • Receive creative direction and constructive feedback while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively through written and verbal direction to interface comfortably with pastors, ministry leaders, support personnel, church members, and the community.
  • Cultivate an ongoing cooperative relationship between the church, school, membership, and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and approved by supervising personnel, to include, but not limited to: Lead Pastor, Church Administrator, Creative Director, or Personnel Committee.

  • Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the; the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks.
  • Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, commitment to systematic stewardship, and faithful in tithing.
