Job description

The Check-In Receptionist is responsible for all aspects of patient registration and check in. This member of our fast-paced orthopedic practice will greet, assist, and provide direction and information to patients and visitors.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Complete patient registration and check in process, verifying insurance benefits
  • Obtain necessary referrals
  • Collect and post patient copays and payments
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Assists patients as necessary. Contacts appropriate parties for transportation.
  • Managing payment batches and submitting daily balance sheets
  • Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition
  • Assists patients with electronic kiosks
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to project a professional image with a strong sense of ethics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged standing and/or periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
