Job description

RK&K has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Proposal Writer (Senior Pursuit Specialist), an integral role dedicated to elevating our proposal development efforts across the firm. As part of this position, you will have the opportunity to work closely with technical leaders across diverse disciplines, contributing your expertise to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
Essential Functions
  • Produce creative and informative proposals (Adobe InDesign) and presentations (Microsoft PPT) that sell the firm's professional services in locations across the mid-Atlantic and Southeastern region; the Senior Pursuit Specialist will be capable of handling complex, multi-team efforts or multiple pursuits simultaneously
  • Update, maintain and produce marketing material including resumes, project descriptions, statements of qualifications and other promotional materials, etc.
  • Track marketing activities/leads and maintain associated database (Deltek Vision); run associated reports
  • Search for and circulate RFQs and RFPs for opportunities with public sector clients; this requires familiarity with various advertisement and procurement websites
  • Help support tracking of project opportunities through research of client websites, CIP, and other procurement events
  • Lead and/or participate in regular marketing meetings with technical staff to track and strategize for ongoing and upcoming pursuits

Required Skills and Experience
  • BA or BS in English, Journalism, Communications or related discipline
  • Six (6) + years of experience with professional services marketing, ideally in the A/E/C industry developing standard government format and custom "free-form" proposals and presentations for both design-bid-build and design-build projects
  • Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Demonstrated proficiency editing technical writing, reviewing and proofreading materials for content and grammar, and style
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality deliverables in reasonable time
  • Ability to deliver multiple deliverables simultaneously within deadline
  • Overall awareness of, compliance with, brand guidelines
