Job Summary: 

The University Graphic Designer is a creative position within Baptist University's Marketing, Alumni, and Communications Office, responsible for designing print and digital materials that support Baptist University's brand, academic programs, student life, campus events, and University communications. This position creates content to promote academic programs, events, news, and academic activities across the university community. This position works directly with university departments, colleges, students and team members to develop marketing collateral, promotional content, and visual assets that reflect the University's identity and advance its mission. This position assists University team members with event coordination and activities. This position is under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Alumni Affairs, responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. This position is subject to hours beyond the normal workday.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creates compelling visually branded marketing materials including writing, editing, and graphic design.

  • Assist in preparation and coordination of campus promotions and events.

  • Coordinates project management and client relations with various on-campus clients.

  • Demonstrates effective teamwork across various departments, bringing forward proactive and innovative visual communication solutions.

  • Employ strategies for content optimization and enhanced production workflows.

  • Performs other accountabilities as required or directed.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, graphic design, business, education, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the field of higher education, communications, graphic design, business, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels.

Desired Requirements: 

  • Master's Degree in higher education, business, marketing, or related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of related work experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
