Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM

The Opportunity

We're seeking a highly dependable Aftercare Transport Specialist to manage student pickups from local schools and ensure safe, seamless transitions to our academy.

This role is mission-critical as parents trust us with their children—we extend that trust to you.

Position Overview

The Aftercare Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe, timely, and accountable transportation of school-age students (ages 5–12) from designated elementary schools to our North Chesterfield facility.


What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
  • Student Transportation: Safely transport children from assigned schools to KALE
  • Punctual Execution: Ensure timely pickups from schools, adhering strictly to school dismissal schedules
  • Accountability: Maintain accurate attendance tracking using Brightwheel or assigned rosters to ensure seamless transitions
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all children are properly seated and secured at all times, promoting a safe environment
  • Communication: Provide real-time updates to administration regarding delays, traffic, or concerns
  • Environment Management: Maintain a calm, structured, and respectful atmosphere in your vehicle

Requirements
Minimum Requirements

Vehicle & Equipment

  • Reliable personal vehicle (SUV or van strongly preferred)
  • Clean, smoke-free, and well-maintained
  • Fully operational seatbelts for all passengers

Licensing & Records

  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License
  • Clean driving record (no recent violations, DUI/DWI, or reckless driving)
  • DMV transcript required

Background & Compliance

  • Must pass all required background checks in accordance with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and DSS regulations:
  • FBI Fingerprinting
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Child Protective Services (CPS) Registry

Insurance

  • Active auto insurance meeting or exceeding Virginia requirements
  • Ability to provide Certificate of Insurance (COI) upon request
  • Commercial coverage or high liability limits strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience transporting children
  • Experience working in a school, daycare, or youth program
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
Compensation
  • Flat rate per route or per child (negotiated based on coverage area and volume)
  • Consistent routes available for high-performing contractors

Contractor Terms (1099)
  • This is an independent contractor position (Form 1099-NEC)
  • Contractor is responsible for all taxes, fuel, maintenance, and insurance
  • No company-provided benefits
