Job description

G & J Marketing and Sales is seeking an experienced, self-directed Independent Salesperson to represent established, in-demand food and beverage brands across vending, micro markets, office coffee, and pantry service. The Independent Salesperson should be based in or actively cover the Northen California/San Francisco/Sacramento area.

Ideal Background

  • Proven sales experience in CPG, food service, vending, office coffee, or distribution.
  • Existing operator, distributor, or customer relationships are preferred.

  • Consistent follow-through without direct oversight.
  • A results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where performance leads to additional commission earning opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Proven sales, account management, and business development skills, ideally within brokerage, foodservice, CPG, or related industries.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation abilities to engage operators, distributors, and brand partners.
  • Comfort with remote work, including effective use of CRM tools, virtual meeting platforms, and regular performance reporting.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple accounts, prioritize opportunities, and meet performance goals.
  • Ability to work independently as an external representative, demonstrating initiative, resilience, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional customer-facing demeanor.
  • Experience with performance-based or commission-driven roles is highly beneficial; prior field sales or broker experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory when needed to visit accounts and attend industry events.
