Role Description The Independent Medical Courier role is a contract, on-site position based in Denver, CO and surrounding areas. The courier is responsible for the safe, timely pickup, transport, and delivery of medical specimens, supplies, and documents between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and other designated locations. Daily tasks include following assigned routes, maintaining accurate delivery logs, adhering to handling and chain-of-custody procedures, and complying with all safety and confidentiality requirements. The role requires effective communication with dispatch, clients, and facility staff, as well as basic vehicle upkeep to ensure reliability. Independent Medical Couriers are expected to work with minimal supervision, manage their schedules according to route demands, and consistently provide professional, reliable service.
Qualifications
  • Customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Training experience to interact professionally with healthcare staff and facility personnel.
  • Operational skills in Logistics Management and Transportation to follow routes, manage time, and ensure secure, compliant delivery of medical items.
  • Background in Food & Beverage or similar service environments, demonstrating reliability, attention to hygiene, and adherence to procedures.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, clean driving record, and reliable insured vehicle suitable for frequent local travel.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages, stand and walk for extended periods, and follow detailed handling protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards (HIPAA awareness preferred).
  • Comfort working independently in an on-site, field-based environment across Denver, CO and surrounding areas; familiarity with local geography is a plus.
