Job description

Summary: Dime Commercial Bank (Dime) is currently hiring for a Senior Fraud Specialist at its Headquarters in Hauppauge, Long Island. The Senior Fraud Specialist plays a crucial role in detecting and preventing fraud, ensuring the safety and security of our customers' accounts. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. This role is not entry level.
Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 annually. The exact compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, and location.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data and conduct thorough investigations and inquiries from multiple sources to identify discrepancies, spot fraud, and eliminate suspicion.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, speed, innovation, and excellence while continuously elevating quality and caliber of controls.
  • Interview and elicit information from department staff to resolve questions.
  • Build and maintain relationships between outside departments, cultivating a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual success.
  • Write reports, document case evidence, findings, and recommendations.
  • Identify fraud trends, make recommendations for new strategies to prevent additional losses.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects assigned by management.
  • Monitor and manage fraud software platform alert and case statuses and report to management.
  • Analyze and monitor fraud software platform metrics and performance indicators.
  • Act as mentor and assist in training of department employees when needed.
  • Develop documentation related to various fraud issues to enhance corporate policies and/or procedures.
  • Support management in reporting potential fraud, fraud losses, and recovery figures.
  • Stay informed of changing fraud patterns or regulations in the field.
  • Assist with creating and implementing policies and procedures relating to Fraud Monitoring.
  • Exercise good judgment to independently resolve problems that require in depth investigation and/or research.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/related field or minimum 5 years' Banking/Risk Management experience.
  • Minimum 7 years' previous e-commerce fraud prevention, investigation, or retail fraud prevention experience.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Fraud Specialist Certification (CAFS), Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI), Certified AML and Fraud Professional (CAFP), or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
  • Advanced knowledge of banking, including check, ACH, Merchant Capture, wire, and other payment channel operating rules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with an aptitude for learning other systems.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work both independently and efficiently.
  • Outstanding time management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with all levels in the organization.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and ever evolving environment.
