Our client specializes in bulk terminal operations, including the handling, storage, and transportation of materials. The division maintains high standards for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency, working closely with customers, carriers, and internal teams to manage inventory, logistics, and documentation.
Terminal Operations Specialist
This customer service/specialist role supports terminal operations by accurately processing receipts, work orders, shipment documents, scale tickets, and reports. The position coordinates scheduling with operations, maintains and adjusts inventory records, and communicates regularly with customers about order status, discrepancies, and inventory levels. Responsibilities include resolving customer issues, preparing required reports, interacting with carriers and surveyors, adhering to security regulations, maintaining the Galahad Bulk inventory system, completing month-end close tasks, and providing billing information. The role also involves assisting management as needed and participating in required safety meetings.
Competencies/Skills/Abilities
This role requires strong organization, communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Candidates must be reliable, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and capable of following instructions and safety procedures. The position demands professionalism under pressure, the ability to work shifts, overtime, and holidays, and the ability to communicate effectively through multiple channels. Basic math skills, problem-solving abilities, ethical conduct, and maintaining accurate files are also essential.
HOURS - 11 AM - 7 PM Monday - Friday (on call every 4 th weekend)
$23/hour as a temp; $25 after offered a permanent position; and could be eligible for CSR Sr position between 9-12 months at $30/hr.
Requirements:
3-5 years of prior experience in customer service. (Liquids operations preferred)
Prior experience with SAP. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Explorer, Outlook, Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint ).
High School Diploma or GED required
