The Sales Leader - Data Center Solutions is a pivotal role within Trane Technologies, responsible for leading a team of sales professionals to achieve annual profit, volume, and margin targets by developing and executing sales strategies, fostering long-term customer relationships, and driving account teaming.Key duties include managing sales performance, coaching account managers, conducting financial analysis, managing account assignments, and ensuring consistent application of Trane sales tools and processes.

In this role, you will lead business sold primarily through the Equipment revenue streams while collaborating with your peers selling Service, Digital, Controls, and Energy Services streams.You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships and maximizing account penetration and customer retention with owner, contractor/developer, and consulting engineer accounts.

Sales Management Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Assemble high-performance teams and interact with Account Managers with differing business development requirements, customer focus, experience, sales cycles, and product portfolios. Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to maximize their potential and drive results.

Pipeline Management: Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities and effective management of leads from initial contact through to closing.

Account Manager Development: Manage ongoing performance by monitoring and coaching Account Managers' effectiveness and efficiency in relation to project attainments, customer service, customer relationship development, and business profitability. Provide leadership activities including 1-1s, pipeline reviews, skills development plans, and performance management.

Ensure Client Satisfaction: Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and sales team as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and regional leadership teams to ensure cohesive strategies and optimal resource allocation for sales initiatives.

Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and projections, monitoring performance against targets and adjusting strategies as needed.

Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and updates to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations.

Achieving Annual Objectives: Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding profit, volume, margins, business mix, and share.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience in a sales leadership role, or a related role, preferably within the Data Center industry.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
