Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Hollywood, FL office. The position will include performing structural design and analysis of environmental structures such as low-rise industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, treatment facilities, dams and spillways. The selected individual will lead the structural design and construction administration responsibilities for major projects involving upgrades to wastewater, water and reclaimed water treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities

The position will include performing structural design and analysis of environmental structures such as low-rise industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, treatment facilities, dams and spillways. The selected individual will lead the structural design and construction administration responsibilities for major projects involving upgrades to wastewater, water and reclaimed water treatment plants.

  • Full structural design per governing building codes and design standards including ACI, AISC and ASCE
  • STAAD for analysis and design of structures
  • Performing construction management tasks such as shop drawings reviews and field inspections
  • Communicate effectively and work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Primarily in-office work, with some travel and field work required for site reconnaissance tasks, condition assessments, and structural observations

Required Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Completed BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural concentration from an ABET accredited institution
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in FL
  • Experience in design and construction of reinforced concrete, steel, reinforced masonry and structural aluminum
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with water and wastewater systems
  • Experience in cross-disciplinary teamwork
