Description

This position is responsible for contributing to the delivery of high-quality structural engineering services on schedule and within budget while working collaboratively within a team environment. Apply advanced and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices across a broad range of project assignments. Independently analyze engineering challenges and determine appropriate methods and solutions, developing innovative and practical design approaches as needed. Serve as Lead Project Engineer on assigned projects, including stamping and sealing drawings and documents when licensed, and acting as the professional in "responsible charge" in accordance with applicable jurisdictional statutes. Represent the firm in client meetings, workshops, and conferences to resolve technical issues, coordinate project execution, and support long-term client relationships. Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct medium to large engineering projects, or multiple smaller complex projects, with overall responsibility for budget, schedule, quality control, and multidisciplinary coordination. Review and approve major materials, equipment, manufacturer qualifications, and field construction activities, including authority to accept or reject work as required. Act as a technical resource or internal consultant within the discipline, providing specialized expertise and guidance on complex or unconventional engineering challenges. Provide technical direction and oversight related to project objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy considerations, and non-routine engineering conditions. Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of engineers and designers assigned to the same project, ensuring technical accuracy, consistency, and overall quality. Define project scopes of work and break them into manageable tasks to support efficient project delivery. Proactively identify and communicate potential scope changes, risks, or impacts to project managers and supervisors. Mentor junior engineers and technicians by providing guidance in structural engineering fundamentals, software tools, and code interpretation. Maintain continuing professional education and remain current with evolving codes, standards, and industry best practices. Participate in client engagement and business development efforts, including proposal support and technical discussions. Meet with clients to define project scope, present progress updates, address concerns, and ensure overall client satisfaction. Support risk management efforts by identifying potential design vulnerabilities related to seismic performance, load paths, and material durability in accordance with local and national codes. Travel to project sites as required.
