Role Description As an Independent Contractor with Jays Way Transportation LLC, you will provide transportation services, including safely operating vehicles, completing scheduled routes, and ensuring timely pickup and delivery of goods or passengers. Daily tasks may include planning routes, inspecting vehicles before and after use, maintaining accurate logs or documentation, and communicating with dispatch or clients about schedules and service updates. You will be responsible for adhering to all applicable traffic laws and company safety guidelines while representing the company in a professional manner. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Columbus, MS, with primary duties performed on-site and some administrative or coordination tasks that can be done from home.
Qualifications

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and follow all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Strong time management skills to plan routes and meet scheduled pickups and deliveries.
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with dispatch, clients, and team members.
  • Basic recordkeeping abilities to maintain logs, receipts, and service documentation.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; eligibility to work as an independent contractor.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid arrangement, with on-site duties in Columbus, MS and some tasks from home.
  • Previous transportation or logistics experience is preferred but not required.
