The Independent Sales Representative (1099) is responsible for representing our lighting and electrical contracting services across business and public-sector markets. This is a commission-only, performance-based role ideal for self-motivated professionals who thrive on autonomy, relationship-building, and high-earning potential.

As a 1099 contractor, you will manage your own schedule, pipeline, and outreach efforts. You will generate new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and close sales for commercial contracting projects in your territory. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for success in this dynamic and competitive field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and generate new B2B and public-sector leads through outreach, networking, and industry relationships.
  • Present and promote lighting & electrical services to decision-makers in businesses, institutions, and government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and communication with company leadership.
  • Develop long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and strong product knowledge.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Work independently as a self-managed 1099 contractor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in B2B and/or public-sector sales (lighting & electrical preferred).
  • Familiarity with lighting incentive programs is a plus.
  • Existing network within commercial property management, facilities, construction, or government procurement.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage your own schedule, pipeline, and administrative tasks as an independent contractor.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within your territory.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. as a 1099 independent contractor.

Compensation Structure:

  • Commission-only compensation structure.
  • Competitive commission percentages with uncapped earning potential.
  • Commission paid per invoiced project; bonus incentives available based on volume and performance.
  • This is not a W-2 position; no salary, draws, or employee benefits are offered.
