Job description

Endeavour has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that's on a journey to transform the world's infrastructure. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated engineering team responsible for the mechanical packaging, structural design, thermal-fluid management, and commercial release of high-power, grid-connected converters for utility-scale energy storage, data centers, and industrial electrification. This role requires technical depth in structural mechanics, thermodynamic heat transfer, and physical packaging architectures to design complex, multi-megawatt (multi-MW) cabinet-type power conversion systems. The team owns the entire electro-mechanical lifecycle, spanning initial volumetric trade studies, detailed component-level and system-level thermal/structural (CFD/FEA) designs, and ruggedized enclosure design.

The ideal candidate has a proven, referenceable track record of translating complex, heavy-industrial electro-mechanical hardware assemblies from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and regulatory approval to high-volume production. Working in a collaborative, concurrent engineering environment, you will partner with electrical, firmware/controls, compliance, reliability, and manufacturing teams, as well as external suppliers, to transition complex novel physical designs into robust, production-ready platforms.

This role requires an agile, self-motivated professional who is comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment. You must be highly organized, an excellent communicator, and capable of operating with complete discretion.

We are highly selective because our mission demands it. We look for passionate changemakers who balance extreme talent with self-awareness and humility. In return, we offer a flexible, autonomous environment with endless opportunities for growth. Are you ready to #JoinTheJourney?

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Mechanical Architecture & Cabinet Design: Lead the physical packaging and structural design of multi-MW, industrial-grade cabinets and utility enclosures, including IP-rated and outdoor-rated power equipment. Drive comprehensive trade studies on design, architecture, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Thermal Management & Multi-Physics Simulation: Design, model, simulate, and implement advanced thermal dissipation systems (forced-convection air and liquid cooling, including cold plates, thermal interface materials, and optimized airflow paths). Familiarity with structural finite element analysis, thermal computational fluid dynamics, vibration, and fatigue assessments.
  • Power Stacks & Electro-Mechanical Integration: Design and pack high-density electronic assemblies, PCBA interfaces, custom magnetic components, insulators, heavy-duty busbars, and high-voltage/high-current connectors. Balance electrical isolation, EMI/EMC shielding, and mechanical constraints.
  • Documentation & PLM Releases: Create detailed 3D CAD models and professional 2D drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Perform tolerance stack-up analyses. Assist with engineering documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and help manage engineering change orders (ECOs) through PLM systems.
  • FMEA, Validation, & DVP&R: Participate in mechanical Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) activities.
  • Prototype Development & Lab Testing: Physical prototype fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, custom test-rig setup, and hands-on mechanical testing of new designs. Support root-cause analysis of pilot or production failures and drive iterative hardware revisions.
  • DFA/DFM & Production Scaling: Collaborate with industrial design, quality, manufacturing, and external suppliers to optimize Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), assembly procedures, and tooling strategies. Develop detailed assembly procedures and instructions to support scalable, high-yield production.
Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus).
  • Experience: 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and product packaging for power electronics, industrial, or energy products.
  • CAD & Simulation Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in CAD modeling software, including 3DEXPERIENCE (CATIA V5/V6), SolidWorks, NX, or Creo. Theoretical and practical understanding of physics, dynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Advanced Multi-Physics Tooling: Strong background in advanced structural, thermal, and vibration analysis using commercial software (e.g., Ansys, Comsol)
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in designing and packaging for injection molding, die casting, extrusion, and sheet metal forming. Working knowledge of metals (aluminum, steel), engineering plastics, ceramics, structural insulators, gaskets, and potting compounds.
  • Mass Production Track Record: Referenceable hands-on experience taking complex, physical electro-mechanical designs from early-stage concept all the way through physical prototyping, supplier tooling development, pilot runs, and successful high-volume production deployment.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with the documentation, testing, and design integration required to meet international regulatory standards (e.g., UL, IEC, NFPA, ISO, etc.).
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to actively participate in technical deep-dives, help coordinate concurrent engineering timelines, and collaborate with suppliers on DFM feedback and tolerance negotiations.

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • High proficiency in modern PLM databases (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE, Windchill, etc.) to manage configurations, CAD assemblies, BOMs, and multi-site manufacturing releases.
  • Experience with medium- to high-voltage systems and insulation coordination (creepage, clearance, potting, sealing).
