Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Department: Professional Services / Engineering


Job Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, securing, and supporting complex network infrastructures for IntegraONE clients. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert, providing advanced consulting, troubleshooting, and implementation services across enterprise networking environments. The Senior Network Engineer works directly with clients to assess business needs, recommend solutions, execute projects, and ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of network systems.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Assists with technical training, knowledge transfer, and best practice development.
  • Participates in peer reviews and project planning activities.
  • Provides technical guidance during project implementations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and data center technologies.
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies from leading vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, HPE, and Fortinet.
  • Design and implement secure network architectures to meet client business and compliance requirements.
  • Install, configure, and support firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, and network security solutions.
  • Perform network assessments, health checks, migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Analyze network performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Troubleshoot advanced network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
  • Develop technical documentation, network diagrams, standards, and implementation procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, account managers, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support cloud networking integrations involving Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid environments.
  • Provide escalation support for complex client incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in project scoping, solution design, and technical presentations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of networking technologies, industry trends, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Adhere to company and client change management processes.
  • Travel to client locations as required to perform project work and provide onsite support.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of enterprise networking technologies.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Advanced knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching concepts.
  • Experience configuring and supporting wireless networking solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with firewalls, VPN technologies, and network access control solutions.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive network engineering experience required.
  • Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP), technology consulting, or systems integration environment preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise technologies required.
  • Professional certifications preferred, including:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Fortinet NSE Certifications
  • Aruba Certified Professional Certifications
  • Microsoft Azure Networking Certifications
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex network implementation and migration projects.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and transport networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to install and service equipment in data centers, network closets, and client facilities.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
  • May occasionally be required to work evenings or weekends to support project implementations and maintenance windows.
