Job description

What You Will Do:
As a Network Engineer Level 3 at Independent Software, you will provide advanced technical leadership in the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network environments. You will support mission-critical infrastructure by resolving complex network challenges, leading engineering efforts, and ensuring systems meet performance, scalability, and compliance requirements.
You will work closely with Network and System Administrators, engineers, and mission stakeholders to enhance network architecture, integrate advanced capabilities, and support evolving operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced technical support to Network Administrators and System Administrators to maintain and improve network infrastructure
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across enterprise environments
  • Lead network upgrades, installations, and configuration efforts
  • Provide input into network design and mission architecture
  • Conduct network defense operations and support secure network implementations
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and accreditation artifacts
  • Configure and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologies
  • Integrate hardware and software solutions to meet DoD/IC and ISO compliance requirements
  • Oversee support and operational readiness of all network equipment
  • Support integration of analytic platforms and network capabilities into operational environments (e.g., CND/CDC)
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues involving network systems, hardware, and software integration
  • Operate network analysis tools, WAN test equipment, and network simulators
  • Design modules and models related to traditional and modern network architectures
  • Lead large-scale network installation and deployment projects
  • Develop algorithms and models related to networking and telecommunications technologies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network security
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-layered network environments
  • Experience designing and implementing network architectures and

  • Strong understanding of network protocols, WAN technologies, and telecommunications systems

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related discipline AND Twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience providing network engineering support

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline AND ten (10) years of relevant experience
OR
  • Sixteen (No degree)

Certifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required

Clearance Requirement:
  • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
