Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the successful migration of a statewide legacy learning management system (LMS) serving over 60,000 users to a new platform. This role will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, stakeholder coordination, and post-launch stabilization. The Project Manager will work closely with the LMS vendor, state agency information technology teams, and program stakeholders to ensure the system meets operational, training, and compliance needs. Internally the Project Manager will work with unit leadership and stakeholders to establish policies for instructional design, and categorization, life cycle, maintenance, and sunsetting of learning opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience in program administration/management, project management, or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field (Information Technology, Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience working within a public sector and/or grant-funded environment.
  • Work experience and/or familiarity with statewide or enterprise-level learning systems supporting large user populations.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and adult learning principles.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel up to 25% of the time will be required.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of onsite and remote work.
This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.

Work Location Expectations
