What is an independent contractor informatics nurse?

An Independent Contractor Informatics Nurse is a registered nurse who specializes in health informatics and works independently, often on a contract basis, rather than as a full-time employee. They help healthcare organizations implement, optimize, and maintain health information systems, such as electronic health records (EHRs). Their responsibilities include analyzing workflows, training staff, ensuring data accuracy, and improving healthcare technology processes. By working as independent contractors, they can offer their expertise to multiple clients, provide flexible solutions, and often focus on specific projects or short-term needs.
