Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Schedule: 36 hours/week; Every Other Weekend; Holidays as Scheduled

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 4T Observation MS/Tele unit. The RN will manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, IV therapy, and other medical-surgical interventions while maintaining a 1:5 patient ratio.

Job Duties:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing assessment and ongoing clinical care to adult and geriatric observation patients.
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Administer oxygen and manage respiratory therapies including nasal cannula, HFNC, and BiPAP/CPAP.
  • Initiate and maintain peripheral and central IV access and administer blood products as ordered.
  • Manage feeding tubes, chest tubes, isolation precautions, and other medical-surgical interventions within scope.
Requirements:

License: Active Maryland or Compact RN License required at submission
Experience: 2 years RN experience; first-time travelers accepted; teaching and community hospital experience required
Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, CPI required; ACLS preferred
Other Requirement: Must be comfortable floating within specialty and to lower-acuity areas without restrictions;

Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics; observation patients; daily census up to 35
Patient Diagnoses: Not specified; medical-surgical/telemetry observation patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, IV therapy, and related acute-care interventions.
