Olsten Staffing is currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Utility Technician to join our client's team in Marion, SC. This position plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing water distribution systems to ensure safe and reliable service to their customers. Position Summary
The Utility Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of water lines, meters, hydrants, and related equipment. This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain water mains, service lines, meters, and hydrants
  • Perform leak detection and assist with emergency water line repairs
  • Read and replace water meters as needed
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment (backhoe, skid steer, etc.)
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on water system components
  • Respond to service calls and customer concerns professionally
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous utility, construction, plumbing, or related experience preferred
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical labor
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Basic mechanical knowledge preferred
