Maintenance Specialist - Healthcare Facility
Kingstree Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) - Kingstree, SC
Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained? Broadstep Behavioral Health is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support our Venice Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in Kingstree, SC.
This position plays an important role in ensuring our residential treatment facility remains safe, welcoming, and fully operational for the children and adolescents we serve. If you enjoy problem-solving, working independently, and making a meaningful impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Specialist, you will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and facility support activities, including:
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, furniture, and grounds
  • Complete minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, doors, locks, drywall, flooring, painting, and general facility upkeep
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify safety or maintenance concerns
  • Assist with maintaining exterior grounds, walkways, parking areas, and outdoor spaces
  • Support facility readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews
  • Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and other operational needs
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed
  • Support emergency preparedness and facility safety initiatives

What We're Looking For
  • Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of maintenance, facilities, construction, or related building trades experience
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (if operating company vehicles)
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other trade certification
  • Experience working in healthcare, residential, educational, or behavioral health settings

Physical Requirements
This position requires:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
