Who We Are

Facilities Management, in the Division of Operations, is an emerging department which coordinates and provides followup on the maintenance, custodial, grounds, and utilities & energy services of the campus-built environment to support the teaching and research mission of the university. Facility Management is a service focused department and will be the initial point of contact for all facilities related requests from maintenance to access on TAMU buildings, infrastructure, and amenities under the oversight of TAMU. What We Want

The primary responsibility of the Facilities and Energy Services Data Analyst is to conduct data queries, analysis, and mining, as well as to generate reports and data visualizations for Facilities & Energy Services and University stakeholders. Additionally, this role will support project coordination efforts, when necessary, particularly for projects that heavily involve data analysis, to help ensure their success.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2 years of experience in data analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new data analysis tools and methodology.

  • Ability to gather information requirements, retrieve accurate information, and present that information in an understandable form (MS Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint, or other data visualization/presentation tools).

  • Aware of basic statistical analysis tools and tests (regression, probability, and forecasting).

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to participate in and foster a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to operate in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with users possessing various levels of technical and functional knowledge, and demonstrate a customer service orientation to faculty, staff, administrators, and affiliated professional organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and visualization tools in a business or higher education environment.

  • Aware of basic statistical analysis tools and tests (regression, probability, and forecasting).

  • Understanding and appreciation for the role of data analysis in making sound strategic business decisions.

  • Proficient background in utilizing spreadsheet or visualization software within both private sector and higher education contexts.

  • Proficiency in recognizing the significance of accurate data analysis and data mining in strategic contract management, and in making informed business process decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis- Conducts data queries. Performs thorough analysis. Data mining. Generates data visualizations for Building Access and all contract management within Facilities & Energy Services' purview. Utilizes university vehicles to oversee and inspect various campus locations/sites as necessary for in-field verification of data analysis. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Data Presentation and Reporting Standards- Ensures reporting data is retrieved in a systematic formal cadence and well-prepared manner. Develops standardized reports and providing analysis and feedback to management.

  • Ad-hoc Reporting- Conducts ad hoc reporting analysis as needed.

  • Project Coordination- Coordinates project resources with relevant resource holders and other project coordinators/managers. May have peripheral involvement in other projects. May have minor links to other projects.

  • Professional Development- Engages in ongoing professional development by attending meetings, professional seminars, training sessions, and conferences.

  • Communication- Effectively presents data analytical feedback to management. Collaborates with all team members and campus constituents in project coordination tasks.

  • Departmental Objectives & Safety- Contributes to a safe work environment by reporting accidents and unsafe working conditions. Uses proper personal protective equipment. Follows safety procedures. Participates in safety training.

Other Requirements and Factors:

  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.

  • This role may require working outside of standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the demands of technology services and ensure the seamless operation of essential systems.

  • This position is security sensitive.

  • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.

  • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.

  • This position allows alternate work location per TAMU guidelines.
