Qwaltec is seeking a Security Manager to own site and communications security for a secure satellite ground facility supporting a Department of War customer. You will be responsible for the proper handling of all Communications Security (COMSEC) materials - including the handling, ordering, and loading of keying material - and for all associated record keeping, inventories, and inspections.

Beyond COMSEC, you will run the physical security of the site end to end: access control, badging, clearance verification, visitor control, and compliance with applicable Department of War security policies and directives. This position is fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area.


Key Responsibilities:ย 

Manage the proper handling, ordering, and loading of all COMSEC keying material, along with all associated record keeping

Coordinate with government COMSEC custodians for the timely delivery of equipment, materials, and keying material

Conduct secure equipment and classified keying material inventories, inspections, and other COMSEC support and oversight functions

Execute site security in compliance with applicable Department of War policies and directives

Manage all aspects of physical security, including signage, the access control system, issuing access badges, verifying clearances, and ensuring gates, doors, and other aspects of the site are properly secured

Verify that all visitors have the proper clearances and notify essential personnel of expected visitors

Work with the government security office on all security matters and ensure the site complies with the latest directives and policies

Requirements


Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certifications

Active Top Secret (TS) or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required

U.S. Citizenship required

Ability to work fully on-site in the Maryland / Washington DC Metro area


Preferred Qualifications:ย 

Experience as a COMSEC custodian or alternate custodian

Completion of DCSA/CDSE security professional coursework or an FSO certification

Experience managing physical and personnel security at a classified facility
