Job description

Title: Civil Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Hire Type: Direct Hire

Join a team in the Austin market and play an integral role in the design/build process. This position is responsible for conducting site due diligence, developing and drafting land development concept plans, and assisting clients through the initial stages of transforming their building vision into reality. This role focuses on solving high-level planning challenges while allowing others to manage detailed design tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather and research site-specific data to support the land development process and conduct site due diligence investigations.
  • Create and draft commercial and industrial multi-building land development concept plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Develop schematic site, grading, and utility plans to demonstrate site feasibility based on identified constraints.
  • Conduct stormwater detention studies, site utility design, and earthwork evaluations to support site planning decisions related to cost and constructability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to review concept plans, evaluate alternative approaches, and establish project direction alongside the Design/Build contracting team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another Engineering or Design-related discipline.
  • 2–8 years of land planning experience within the Austin market.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including creating templates and styles, is preferred.
  • Ability to independently perform stormwater detention analyses and site utility design calculations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply local zoning regulations, stormwater management requirements, FEMA flood maps, FWS wetland maps, and existing civil and survey drawings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred but not required. supports licensure efforts for EITs and provides a $5,000 bonus upon successful completion of PE licensure.
