Their main responsibilities often include tracking incoming and outgoing cash, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards or tax regulations. They typically work with small businesses, entrepreneurs, or individuals who require flexible accounting support. This role requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of cash-based accounting methods, and knowledge of relevant financial software. Independent Contractor Cash Accountants often manage their own schedules and client lists, providing services on a contract or freelance basis.
