Job description

Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, manages the production of architecture documentation for the design, development, and construction of new and existing hotels.
GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Provides services in all phases of architecture, including site planning, building design and detailing, design documentation, and construction administration.
2. Will work independently on new and renovation projects, and on large projects, will work directly with the Senior Architect.
3. Maintains the project schedule by ensuring the timely preparation of deliverables on assigned tasks and projects.
4. Participates in project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation, specifications, and during construction administration.
5. Helps with all aspects of the construction administration of projects, including review of shop drawings and submittals, quality control, requests for information, and site visits.
6. Facilitates coordination with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specifications, and regulatory agencies under general supervision to meet overall project objectives.
7. Maintains close collaboration with design team, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
8. Helps to evaluate new products and systems, energy savings strategies, cost-saving initiatives, and other process efficiencies within the department.
Requirements
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
1. Mastery of architectural and engineering designs, concepts, and terminology, including relevant building codes and standards.
2. An ideal candidate will have a strong interest and excellent REVIT proficiency. AutoCAD experience is required for renovation projects.
3. Proficient with all aspects of MS Office. Design illustration software like sketch-up, photoshop, BlueBeam, or other 3D visualization software experience is preferred.
4. Knowledge of building codes, energy analysis, rebates, and jurisdictional processes. Technically fluent with general experience in applying to normal project conditions.
5. Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
6. Skilled in leadership, organization, business writing, and communication skills.
7. Must be able to work independently, multitask, be a team player, possess a can-do attitude, and be a self-starter.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited school of architecture, preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5 to 12 yearsof progressive experience in a similar position required. Licensed or Licensure track preferred.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time; requires the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time; requires the ability to lift 15-25 pounds intermittently; may require the ability to lift heavy equipment on an as-needed basis.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports directly to Vice President of Architecture & Design.
2. Will work closely with other Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers as well as construction team members.
3. May coordinate with other outside consultants under general supervision.
4. Cooperates with management staff (Construction, VP of Development, and Operations) and other team members as needed.
