Job description

Work Schedule:

  • Attend all on-boarding and training prior to the program. 
  •  Paid preparation and training after school/evenings prior to the start of the program. ( Work remote when approved by Site Manager) 
  • Attend EKT family orientation the week prior to the program

EKT Program hours: 8:00am - 1:00pm Mondays-Thursdays from July 20 - July 30 

Job Overview: 

EKT is a two-week summer program at SUN schools that offers children and families a jump-start into a successful kindergarten year. The program focuses on academics, play, arts and music, exploration and developing friendships in an inclusive and joyful classroom. The program has two components: a two week program for incoming kindergarten students, and two classes offering  family education sessions that are required. EKT partners with SUN and Multnomah County to offer the program. This role manages incoming ISFP/IEP plans, facilities family communication and works in the classroom to support EKT. This includes training staff on inclusion strategies to support EKT students. This role is in person during EKT  programming.


 

Qualifications:  

  • State of Oregon TSPC license with proper endorsement, highly qualified status 
  • Current first-aid card
  • Experience planning and implementing professional development 
  • Review all incoming IFSP/IEP plans for EKT 
  • Communicate with families to ensure smooth transition into EKT 
  • Plans, develops and supports inclusion strategies across program 
  • Works closely with Site Managers 
  • Communicate with EKT teachers about student needs 
  • Coordinate with feeding team
  • Organize and track inclusion supportÂ
