Full Time

Govtranz, a leader in the non-emergency medical transportation industry, is seeking a Veteran Transport Specialist to provide safe and reliable transportation services to our passengers. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work various shift hours and assigned days to accommodate the transportation needs of our veterans.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate a company-provided shuttle/sedan in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Safely transport clients who are disabled within the designated service area and according to the assigned time schedule.
  • Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition. Report any mechanical or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate channels.
  • Assist passengers, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, in boarding and alighting from the vehicle. Properly secure wheelchairs and scooters to ensure passenger safety during transit.
  • Maintain effective communication with dispatch to report any deviations, accidents, passenger incidents, medical or behavioral concerns, or bus mechanical/electrical problems promptly. Complete written reports accurately and promptly for passenger-related matters and accidents.
  • Provide necessary guidance and inform passengers about rules and regulations when necessary, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for all.
  • Assist passengers with loading and stowing luggage, ensuring their belongings are handled with care and properly secured during transit.
Requirements:
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with passengers, colleagues, and dispatch.
  • Ability to store a company-designated passenger van with the Govtranz logo at your residence.
  • Willingness to work various shift hours and assigned days to accommodate the transportation needs of our veterans.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check with MVR and drug screen is mandatory for all candidates.
  • Must have the ability to provide housing for a vehicle, preferably a commercial utility van, at your residence. The vehicle should also bear the company logo to maintain brand consistency and visibility.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 75lbs from the floor
  • Capability to push/push 80lbs horizontally and at an incline
  • Ability to exert up to the 50lbs of force with hand dynamometer
  • Ability to climb steps
  • Ability to kneel and reach the floor
  • Prolonged periods of sitting in excess of 2 hours or more
