Job Details:

Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Work Location: Hayward, CA 94541
Pay Rate: $24.00/hr on W2
Schedule Time: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday - Friday).

Position Summary:

  • This role involves processing the receipt of all inbound freight, managing outbound shipments, staging materials, and providing leadership to enhance department performance while ensuring compliance with safety and GMP regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process the receipt of all inbound freight by packing slip and purchase order, as well as process all outbound shipments from the warehouse ensuring all shipments are labeled correctly.
  • Prepare parcels for shipping and complete bill of lading, packing list, seal assignment, and bar code assignments for shipping orders.
  • Replenish product that has been received into its assigned stocking location and process, pick, pack, stage, and ship.
  • Help direct the workflow in the receiving area, setting priorities and meeting deadlines for the receiving function, and take charge in the absence of the lead or supervisor.
  • Read production schedule, work order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Fill work orders, material requests, sample requests and distribute to Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Quality teams.
  • Kit/stage work orders in specified sequence according to the production schedule.
  • Use pallet jack, forklift, and other material handling equipment to move materials, maintain equipment, and report any potential problems.
  • Assist the warehouse specialist in cycle counting as needed, and perform physical counts, spot-checks, and periodic/monthly/annual inventory verification.
  • Transfer material to the production lines from the warehouse physically and in the inventory control system, and transfer “return to stock” material back to the physical location and system.
  • Work with quality receiving and inspection department to ensure materials are properly staged for sampling, and proper samples are available with labels.
  • Keep raw material, MRO, and Finished Good racks neat and organized. Keep receiving area and aisles clean, organized, and free of hazards and obstructions.
  • Use Coupa purchasing for receiving or shipping supplies.
  • Assist in completing preventive maintenance activities and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with company SOPs, GMPs, safety rules and regulations, and departmental procedures.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) experience and Warehouse experience are required. (PIT certification preferred).
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and PC environments.
  • Requires strong interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, AA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of warehouse and/or technical office experience.

  • Physical Activity: Reaching, lifting, fingering (picking, pinching, typing), and talking (conveying detailed or important spoken instructions).
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift 10-50 lbs. Work includes sedentary aspects (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally/frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects).
  • Visual Acuity: Required to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities.
  • Environmental Conditions: Worker is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
