Job description

Warehouse Receiver

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Warehouse receiver is responsible for efficient, safe and accurate unloading of the transport trucks and performing the assigned warehouse maintenance tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Must report to work on time and clock in and out properly.
  • Keep all warehouse loading and unloading areas and grounds clean. Fills racks, pick lines and all pick locations. Pushes/pulls pallets and loads and unloads appropriate company products.
  • Must be able to use and understand RF guns and functions of Location Based Inventory.
  • Unload inbound freight and outbound freight.
  • Ensure loads are done accurately and neatly.
  • Sweep, mop, and restock pick area, keeping work area clean.
  • Replenishment of all pick locations and areas.
  • Responsible for assisting in all functions of warehouse maintenance.
  • Restock and rework returned beer.
  • Visually inspect all cases unloaded to ensure they are in saleable condition.
  • Be aware of code dates and load the oldest product first.
  • Report any accidents to manager on duty immediately.
  • Upon completion of the unloading of each truck give the receiving report to the Warehouse Manager for verification.
  • Prior to the end of your shift each day ensure all empty pallets are removed from the pick area and properly stored.
  • Clear the pick area of debris and stretch wrap at the end of the truck unloading process each day.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification through the company.
  • Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of the company.
  • Maintain open and clear communications with the vendors and retailers that do business with the company.
  • Obtain from the Warehouse Manager approval prior to working in excess of your regular schedule.
  • Dress in uniform and maintain your personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
  • Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct all of your activities in accordance to the local, state and federal liquor control regulations.
  • Perform all work activities in accordance to the safe work practices, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all established inventory control procedures and practices.
  • Help second and third shift with the loading of carts/pallet trucks as needed.
  • Adapt to any new responsibilities required by the Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous use of warehouse equipment to include walkie rider, pallet jack, forklift, scanners, etc.
  • Highly motivated to reach goals
  • Comfortable working as a team or alone
  • Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community. Work effectively as a member of the team. Effectively communicate. Manage time and work effectively with or without supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Constant (67 - 100% of time) required to walk and talk and hear.
  • Constant (67 - 100% of time) required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Constant (67 - 100% of time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently (34% - 66% of time) specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Constant (67 - 100% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Occasionally (more than 10%) weekend and/or overtime work.
