Job description

Detroit, MI - Behavioral/Cognitive Neurologist (Permanent)Position Overview
  • Location: Detroit, Michigan
  • Specialty: Behavioral/Cognitive Neurology
  • Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Target Start: Fall 2026 (will consider start through early 2027 for the right candidate)
  • Setting: 100% Outpatient Clinic
  • Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
  • Trauma Level: Level I
Availability Requirements

Required

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule
  • Night call: 1-2 nights per month
  • Weekend call: 1-2 weekends annually
Licenses, Certifications & QualificationsRequired Board Certification
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Behavioral/Cognitive Neurology preferred
Leadership Requirements
  • Clinical leadership experience
  • Interest in academic medicine, research, and teaching
  • Ability to lead and further develop an established Center for Cognitive Health
Practice Details
  • 100% outpatient practice
  • Average 6-8 patients per day
  • Replacement position
  • Leadership role with an established multidisciplinary neurology team
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage cognitive and behavioral neurologic disorders
  • Provide clinical leadership
  • Expand and develop the Center for Cognitive Health
  • Participate in clinical research and neurology clinical trials
  • Teach and mentor:
    • Medical students
    • Neurology residents
    • Behavioral Neurology fellows
  • Support Graduate Medical Education initiatives
Academic Opportunities
  • Division Head will assume an endowed chair focused on advancing care for dementia and neurodegenerative diseases
  • Opportunity for a tenure-track academic appointment for qualified candidates through affiliated medical schools
