Approximately working from July to December, 2026
Working within the Engineering Services department and reporting to the Director, Engineering Services, or as assigned, the Engineer-in-Training will support engineering construction and capital projects including data collection, site inspections, project records and documentation, contract administration activities, reviewing submittals, and other tasks as needed. This position will gain practical experience working with Municipal Engineering Standards, construction practices and project delivery while supporting Parkland Countyโ€™s service delivery and commitment to safety.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
  • Recently graduated from a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering program.
  • Eligibility for the Member-in-Training (M.I.T.) designation through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • Exposure to project management activities or capital construction projects.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs with exposure to database & GIS systems.
Requirements:
  • Ability to primarily work in-person at Parkland County Centre โ€“ 53109A HWY 779, Parkland County, AB and in field locations throughout the County.
  • A valid class 5 driverโ€™s license and current, satisfactory driverโ€™s abstract provided upon hire.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
