Job Overview:
This individual provides oversight at the direction of management on site to coordinate routine work activities of all food service employees engaged in food operations. This individual will provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below. These responsibilities may differ depending on business necessities and Springmoor requirements.
General Responsibilities:
  • Understands, follows and enforces all policies and procedures.
  • Understands diet orders in regard to Springmoor's policies and resident's rights.
  • Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to oversight duties.
  • Monitors employee productivity and provides directions for increased service or productivity.
  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.
  • Hold subordinates accountable for set expectations.
  • Responsible for orientation and training of new employees.
  • Meets with customers to ensure satisfaction in food quality and service.
  • Attends all meetings and trainings provided by Sodexo management and Springmoor.
  • Promotes the development of the food service team.
  • Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all state regulations.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities wherever needed within the dining service department.

Experience/Knowledge:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred

Skills/Aptitude:
  • Must be able to coordinate the routine responsibilities of staff with available resources.
  • Presents self in a professional manner to others
  • Understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
  • Ability to be a problem solver and maintain a calm and positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.

Holiday Pay
  • Full-Time Employees:
    Employees who work on a recognized holiday are paid at 2.5 times their regular rate.
    Employees who do not work on a recognized holiday receive 8 hours of holiday pay, in accordance with company policy.
  • Part-Time Employees:
    Employees who work on a recognized holiday are paid at 1.5 times their regular rate.

Minimum of 2 years food service experience and 1 year supervisory experience (may be promoted from within). Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be self-motivated and flexible. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and perform moderate physical labor, such as lifting up to 25 lbs. Patience and understanding are required when dealing with residents and employees, as are professional appearance and attitude. Must be able to read, speak and write English.
Must be Serv-Safe certified.
