Job Summary: Provide comprehensive direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced emergency care environment during night shifts. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and professional responsibility with minimal supervision. Efficiently triage patients, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs while managing patient flow effectively. Collaborate closely with Emergency Department physicians to communicate patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results. Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Deliver direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, consult specialists as needed, and adjust nursing care to ensure optimal results.
  • Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and reassessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations.
  • Utilize triage protocols to assign appropriate categories and ensure timely care.
  • Assess and reassess pain levels, apply suitable pain management techniques, and educate patients and families on pain control.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status and accurately interpret findings.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring, identify dysrhythmias, and provide appropriate treatment.
  • Conduct waived point-of-care testing according to clinical policies and interpret results to take necessary actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications and administer them correctly based on patient age and condition, adhering to medication safety protocols.
  • Prepare, administer, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids as required.
  • Document patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessments accurately and continuously.
