Job description

The ED Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering fast-paced, high-acuity care to patients with diverse emergent medical needs, including, but not limited to:
  • Triage & Assessment: Rapid assessment of patients to determine the severity of their condition.
  • Patient Care: Providing competent nursing care, including medication administration, treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Critical Thinking: Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) to handle unpredictable, urgent situations.
  • Collaboration: Working with an interdisciplinary team (physicians, specialists) to develop and implement care plans.
  • Patient Advocacy: Educating patients and families, ensuring compassion and comfort.
 
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required; Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN licensure in Virginia, North Carolina, or a compact state.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (Emergency, Intensive Care, Intermediate Care, or Med/Surg preferred).
  • Certifications: BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS or ENPC required within 1 year of hire.
