Job Summary

Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across the perioperative continuum—including pre-anesthetic assessment, intraoperative management, and safe transfer of care to PACU—while exercising independent clinical judgment and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, accuracy, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complete pre-anesthetic assessments, including history, physical exam, diagnostics, and risk evaluation.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans tailored to each patient and procedure.
  • Select, prepare, and administer anesthetic agents and techniques for general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
  • Independently perform airway management, regional and neuraxial anesthesia (spinal/epidural), vascular access (peripheral and arterial), and management of vasoactive infusions.
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively, maintain hemodynamic stability, and manage emergence and post-anesthesia recovery.
  • Provide age-appropriate anesthesia services for surgical and obstetrical patients.
  • Collaborate and consult with surgeons, physicians, and nursing colleagues as clinically indicated.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of anesthesia care and coding elements in the EHR.
  • Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement initiatives, and precepting of students as assigned.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in all interactions.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with CRNA authority (or eligibility) in the state of Arkansas.
  • Active NBCRNA certification and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general anesthesia, regional and neuraxial techniques, airway management, and perioperative documentation.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to function independently.
  • Maintain active hospital medical staff appointment and delineation of privileges (core and advanced, such as ultrasound-guided blocks and arterial lines).
  • DEA registration and state controlled substance authority, as permitted by medical staff bylaws.
